My niece (also my God daughter) is attending Samford University in Birmingham…they love the Governor (come on, sing it with me….”Ooooo oooooo oooo”). So we decided we were close enough to make a day trip up to see her. Its a 4 hour drive from Mobile but Steph did some of the driving so I could get some work done. We met Sid on campus and she gave us a tour of her dorm, her room and campus. I still remember holding her when she was days old and now she’s a college student…wow!! After a quick bite at Subway we went to the McWane Science Center on a suggestion from both Sid and her dad…plus our Denver Museum of Nature and Science pass got us free admission. Sweet!
The museum was really cool with lots of great interactive stations. There was one that tested your reflexes and there was a grey bearded bald guy who had the record at 0.141 seconds…not that anyone was keeping score. For a Sunday it was not too busy and we never felt like we were in anybody’s way or that anyone was in our way. I’m sure the kids will do a post on some of the details so I won’t. Afterwards we went out for burgers at MugShots which was super busy so we got it to go and just ate out by a fountain in “Uptown” Birmingham.
Brielle was so happy to have Sidney with us…she commented that Sidney made us even “3 boys and 3 girls”! It was really great to see Sidney the college student and I’m thankful that she took time out of her weekend to spend with us. Thanks Sid….we are very proud of you and love you very much!
Awwwwwww…that looks like way too much fun! Can’t you make room for a stowaway and let me join you for the rest of the trip??? fun to see Sid in the pix, too! I love my family…you all are just the coolest clan.
We have a 6th seat in the truck and a spare bed. Stow-aways welcome (as long as they can kid sit so I can have another date night with my hunny)
