Thanksgiving

What?  Its not Thanksgiving!  At least its not the official holiday we call Thanksgiving but any day is a good day for giving thanks and today seemed like a good day to shout out some thanks!

Thank you Lord that I’m alive.  For building me with a heart that knows how to beat, lungs that know how to breathe, cells that know how to multiply and hair that knows how to grow (just not where to grow)!  Thank you for our safety and the freedom to travel the USA and get a taste of so many different parts of your creation.

Thank you family back home for cheering us on, storing our stuff, handling our mail and being some of our few but loyal blog readers.  We miss you very much and love you even more.

Thank you friends back home for staying in touch by phone, text, Facebook, email or through the blog.  Its nice to have that taste of home every once in awhile.

Thank you to our neighbors on the road for being our surrogate neighborhood:  Glenn and Melinda, the Longneckers, Mike and Pat, Doug, Hal and Peggy and many whos names we didn’t get.

Thank you random people who have helped us along the way:  Fort Davis library lady, Mr Lopez, guy in the WWII museum parking lot, Ranger Josh.

Thank you family and friends who have taken time to visit with us as we journey through your area or crash your vacations:  Bill and Karen (twice!), Hollis and Rae, Sidney, and the Boyinks.

Thank you Stephanie for agreeing to this adventure and for working so hard to make it happen and to make us feel at home wherever we park.  Thank you also for being strong when I was weak and not letting me give up on this dream.

Thank you Caden for your haikus, your humor, for playing games with me and for letting us take you away from friends and soccer for a season.

Thank you Dacen for being inquisitive and always ready to explore and gather new info and stats.  Thank you for letting us take you away from robotics and soccer for a season.

Thank you Brielle for your endless optimism and hugs, your encouragement, your creativity and your willingness to try new things.  Thank you for letting us take you away from your many friends back home for a season.

Thank you Coastal Oaks Church, First Baptist of Carrabelle, Crystal River United Methodist, Life Pointe Church of Homestead and New Life Christian Fellowship of Port St. John for so warmly welcoming us into your worship times.

Thank you Ava for being a dependable trailer that has really come to feel like home.

Thank you Beast for a clean bill of health at your last checkup and oil change…despite our rocky beginning you have grown on me and have done a stellar job of pulling Ava wherever we steer you.

Thank you to my clients who give me the opportunity to work on really cool stuff and to do it from wherever my office is for the day.

Thank you Lord for every person and thing listed above…you are the source of all these amazing blessings.

PS.  Is it just me, or did you hear Jimmy Fallon thank you note writing music in the background as you read through those?

So thankful our paths crossed for a few minutes today and that you shared your blog site with us! We can’t wait to follow your journey! We are in awe of what your family is doing-what an incredible gift you are giving your children-to step away and focus on one another and truly experience life together. Amazing! We are praying for the remainder of your trip, for your safety, for each stop along the way, for your health, for positive attitudes and how God will use this story!

    Happy trails!

Yes indeed….I too am thankful our paths crossed! We just finished bedtime prayers and prayed that Dave’s mission trip is safe and has maximum impact as well as peace and strength for the rest of the family on the homefront! If you find yourselves in Colorado give us a holler and we’ll show you around our neck of the woods. And if you guys want to give full time travel a try, there should be a really nice, family friendly 5th wheel and crew cab pickup for sale in July or August 😉
