travel day ever"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We started researching where to stay while in Orlando. \u00a0&#8220;Everybody&#8221; seems to stay at Di$ney&#8217;$ Fort Wilderne$$. \u00a0If you are on a week long vacation and you are blowing a big wad of cash in a short amount of time then this probably makes sense, or at least Disney-cents. \u00a0But we are on a rather long adventure and need to make our small wad of cash last for awhile&#8230;so we were looking for other options.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I came across some reviews for Bill Fredrick Park at Turkey Lake. \u00a0This place is the bomb!! \u00a0Its $20\/nt for a partial hookup site (fine for us) and only $24\/nt for full hookup. \u00a0The reviews were really positive. \u00a0I figured it must be an hour away from the parks for it to be that cheap so I mapped the drive to Universal Orlando&#8230;<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: 0;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!1m28!1m12!1m3!1d28053.424583616186!2d-81.48953211185295!3d28.489240178353885!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!4m13!3e0!4m5!1s0x88e778d3d82e149d%3A0x324555db3fab692d!2sBill+Frederick+Park%2C+3401+South+Hiawassee+Road%2C+Orlando%2C+FL+32835!3m2!1d28.5070409!2d-81.4823858!4m5!1s0x88e77edfac4210bd%3A0x1364056e556d89f3!2sUniversal's+Islands+of+Adventure%2C+6000+Universal+Boulevard%2C+Orlando%2C+FL+32819!3m2!1d28.471140199999997!2d-81.47156509999999!5e0!3m2!1sen!2sus!4v1457576000848\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Look at that&#8230;3.3 miles away!!! \u00a0Its 30 minutes from Disney but thats still respectable. \u00a0We called and were able to secure a place to stay for the duration of our visit. \u00a0There was a catch though. \u00a0We had to change sites half way through our stay&#8230;.site #13 for 2 nights, then site #14 for 2 nights.<br \/>\n<a title=\"Campground map\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/136797225@N05\/25715034865\/in\/album-72157663460350294\/\" width=\"320\" height=\"246\" \/><\/a><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nWhen we arrived site #14 was vacant so we checked to see if we could just have that for all 4 nights. \u00a0The lady at the office tried really hard for us. \u00a0There were people checked into site #14 but she could not reach them at their contact number. \u00a0So we had to set up in site #13. \u00a0Site #14 remained vacant until we moved into it&#8230;.I&#8217;m guessing\u00a0the people left early without checking out. \u00a0So we <em><strong>could<\/strong> <\/em>have stayed the whole time in site #14&#8230;but then I wouldn&#8217;t have the opportunity to write a post called\u00a0<em>Shortest travel day ever<\/em>. \u00a0We moved about 10 yards&#8230;the odometer didn&#8217;t even budge.<\/p>\n<p>Anyhow, I wish we had done a time lapse of the move but we didn&#8217;t. \u00a0However, I did think to look at my watch and time it. \u00a0During our <a href=\"http:\/\/thewachs.com\/wachsacrossamerica\/2016\/02\/03\/our-first-guests\/\">visit with the Boyinks<\/a>\u00a0they told us how they could be road ready in 18 minutes. \u00a0We didn&#8217;t come close to that but I was still pretty happy with our time. \u00a0From start of packing up at one site to the end of unpacking at the other site it was 1 hour. \u00a0There were a very few shortcuts we took like not tying the chairs down and just carrying the hose, power cord, chocks, etc by hand to the neighboring site. \u00a0But I think we could be road style=\"clear:both\"><\/div><\/div>\n<p>The park had a nice playground, disc golf course, Turkey Lake, and a good bathroom\/shower house (although our last day the boys and I ran out of hot water in the shower). \u00a0 The kids had fun hunting down wildlife to capture on camera. \u00a0Be sure to check out some of their pics above. \u00a0We would have loved to stay through the weekend but the
