{"id":927,"date":"2016-03-01T23:50:48","date_gmt":"2016-03-01T23:50:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thewachs.com\/wachsacrossamerica\/?p=927"},"modified":"2016-03-06T12:17:29","modified_gmt":"2016-03-06T12:17:29","slug":"low-key-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thewachs.com\/wachsacrossamerica\/2016\/03\/01\/low-key-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Low key day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today was not that spectacular. \u00a0We didn&#8217;t go to any tourist attraction or pay any admission fees or have a once-in-a-lifetime experience or see the rare spork billed crane or anything else. \u00a0But I will write a short account of this low key day for posterity.<br \/>\n<a title=\"End of the path\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/136797225@N05\/24898308193\/in\/album-72157663155503543\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1595\/24898308193_f32eaf1082_n.jpg\" alt=\"End of the path\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>While I spent the first of two mornings at the auto repair shop having the <a href=\"http:\/\/thewachs.com\/wachsacrossamerica\/2016\/03\/01\/ac\/\">HVAC system repaired<\/a> the kids got some school work done. \u00a0After I returned and we had some lunch we decided to ride the bike path that\u00a0runs along the Cross Florida Canal which is right next to\u00a0the campground where we are staying. \u00a0We had to cross the highway then ride on the shoulder for a short bit to get to the trail but we all 5 made it without any issues. \u00a0The trail was super nice. \u00a0It was wide and paved as it wound through the trees and skirted next to the canal. \u00a0We passed several other cyclists out for a joy ride&#8230;no carbon fiber frames or aggressive geometeries, everyone out here was just out for fun.<\/p>\n<p>I thought we would just ride a mile or two but we ended up riding till it don&#8217;t go no more. \u00a0There was a covered pavilion with a picnic table where we had a little snack. \u00a0We watched fish jumping out of the water and found a cute little lizardy thing that we watched change colors&#8230;does that make him a chameleon?
