WHO<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are a Christ following family of 5\u00a0from “old town” Longmont CO.<\/p>\n

My name is Huck. \u00a0I’m the instigator of this crazy plan.\u00a0I love cycling, board games and being with my family. \u00a0I am a “hobby” musician grateful for\u00a0the opportunity I’ve had to use my\u00a0chops\u00a0as a worship leader for the past 7 years! \u00a0Professionally I am a\u00a0machine\u00a0vision engineer<\/a> which means I’m\u00a0a computer and camera geek. \u00a0I have my own personal angel, Stephanie, who I\u00a0married in ’98.<\/p>\n

Speaking of Steph….she is a super woman. \u00a0If there is an upper limit of steps you can rack up on a FitBit, she will hit it. \u00a0Not only is she an awesome wife and mom but she is a hard core giver….she gives selflessly of her time and talent as she volunteers at church and school. \u00a0She pours so much goodness into the lives of others I’m blessed to be a part of her life. \u00a0She is also daring enough to give my crazy plan a go with me!<\/p>\n

We have three amazing kids: 12 year old and 10 year old boys and a 6.5 year old girl. \u00a0They are great travelers, inquisitive learners, caring, and funny….they also know how to push other family members’ buttons (maybe we all know how to do that). \u00a0The kids are excited to travel and see so many new places!<\/p>\n

WHAT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Exactly!! \u00a0 Whaaaaat?! What are<\/em> we doing?! \u00a0We’re temporarily moving into a 300sq ft 5th wheel\u00a0and heading out on an adventure across the USA.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

WHEN<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

It seems like just yesterday<\/em> that the kids were born, which means they’ll be headed out on their own tomorrow<\/em>. \u00a0So today<\/em> <\/strong>we will enjoy our time together as a family. \u00a0But, more specifically, we’ll be traveling January -June (maybe July if we’re not too home sick) 2016<\/p>\n

WHERE<\/strong><\/p>\n

We like to travel with pretty loose plans but we are generally heading south and east from our home state of Colorado. \u00a0We’ll likely stay close to the water since we don’t get much<\/del>\u00a0any beach time at home.<\/p>\n

WHY<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Why not?<\/li>\n
  2. We’ve always enjoyed travel and I (Huck) especially like longer trips.<\/li>\n
  3. We’ve only got about 6 years left before our oldest leaves the nest…this time as a family is precious.<\/li>\n
  4. I (Huck) tend to be attracted to things that are not normal. \u00a0Living in a home with wheels is not all that uncommon, but I don’t think its considered normal yet.<\/li>\n
  5. To challenge the definitions of home and community.<\/li>\n
  6. To learn….about our country, its people, its history, and its natural resources.<\/li>\n
  7. To build relationships…with people we meet along the way, with each other, and most importantly with our Creator<\/li>\n
  8. To serve. \u00a0Not sure what this will look like but I keep praying expectantly that God will use us somehow on this adventure.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    HOW<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n

    We’ll be living in a 5th wheel pulled by a truck we haven’t found<\/del>. \u00a0I will work part time using Verizon 4G LTE\u00a0which I have not acquired<\/del>. \u00a0We’ll home\/road\/unschool the kids which we have zero experience with. \u00a0We’ll rent our house out to people we haven’t identified<\/a><\/del>. \u00a0So, yeah, there are a lot of “hows” we don’t have answered yet. \u00a0But a year ago I had no idea how we would afford this, or how I would be able to work remotely or\u00a0how we’d find an RV. \u00a0And yet I sit here and write this now with those 3 major “hows” answered. \u00a0God has blessed us beyond anything we could have imagined!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
